Doula Support

A doula is a woman who is professionally trained in supporting the beautiful, transformative, and sometimes overwhelming process of birth and early parenthood. This means that you have an expert guide to help you navigate birth (and supporting a birthing woman) and those first few weeks with your new baby!

Why hire a doula?

You want somebody in the room who will be there just for you and your partner. Someone who will stay with you even when your health care provider leaves the room.

During pregnancy and after your new baby arrives, you want someone who will take time to answer your questions and help you find the information to make the decisions that feel right for your family.

Your partner is an awesome person, whom you love dearly, but isn't familiar with labour and birth. Sometimes big emotions are scary for them and you want someone with you who gets what you are going through.

You may want labour support before you may be admitted to the hospital or before you would page your midwife.

You and your partner are new to this birthing thing. You are excited but nervous - you don't want to go to the hospital or page too early, you want

Your partner wants to be involved in supporting you but would benefit from some guidance from someone who has experience supporting the pregnancy and birth process. You would also like them to have support with their emotional transition through the labour and birth.

You are overwhelmed after your prenatal classes - there was lots of good information but you likely won't remember it once the big day arrives and there was stuff in there that you would like to have as options.

You want to have a relationship with someone who will definately be at your birth - and also help you as you ease into your parenting roles.

You are looking for some support with breastfeeding that goes beyond the first few hours after birth.
